How time flies...

I just realised that almost three years have passed since my last post! I don't know where those years went but certainly a lot has happened during them.

I know my last post mentioned great changes...well, even greater changes this time. I probably won't go and list them all but I'll sum up:

- I became permanently installed in Canada
- I got my cats
- I lost someone very dear to me.

In May 2008 my grandmother passed on to a better place. This has had a profound effect on me and changed my whole outlook.

People who did not know me prior to then will not see any difference but to those who know me, a very significant change will be obvious.

It may not be evident in every single post I do but there may be things that "pop out" sometimes.

Anyway, I may or may not post regularly, only time will tell.

For now, I've said enough.

Changes looming...

Sorry about the long delay yet again between posts. I've had a lot on since the last time, but now things have settled down.

Let's see, I had a journey back to Scotland, a pilgrimage to Paris, and a trip ro Rosslyn Chapel (yes, the one in The Da Vinci Code!) and then to top it all off, a return to Montreal.

Since I've been back I've had time to think about my future. I've just recently all-but-overcome the most difficult period of my life and I wouldn't have been able to do it without a small group of VERY special people, people who will always be in my life. I cannot say the same for those who turned their backs when I needed them most. They know who they are. They have been erased from my speed-dial and blocked (and some deleted) from msn (that is NOT an acceptable way to maintain a good friendship-msn is a means of slacking off work, saying hi to friends afar with whom proper contact is not possible, and chatting with people you don't know. It is NOT meant as the life-thread of a healthy relationship and only means of communication with someone who lives 5 minutes away! I'm sorry, but if you cut me out of your life and don't return calls, are always "too busy" to spend any proper time with me or have "lots of good friends and don't need me" then the same applies to you.)

I hate being harsh but I'm at a stage in my life where I am happy and I don't need to be taken advantage of anymore. I will no longer just drop everything when they need help, like they expect me to. I used to do that but why should I? I got nothing from them when I was screaming out for help and now they are going to see how it feels. I won't let them walk all over me anymore. If they want to treat people like crap then that crap is going to come flying back and hit them in the face.

Now that I have that out of my system I feel a lot better so I can change subject now...

I am househunting. Not because I want to move but because I want a cat and I can't have one in this building. I'd like to stay in this area but we'll see. There's no hurry, I won't be getting the cat for a while yet so there's plenty of time to search and see what's available. I'd also like a Capuchin monkey but that's another blog!

Until the next time!

Me with Sadna, one of the above-mentioned VERY special people.

Jocks Wae Hae!!

Well, today was a fun day! I went to the 30th annual Montreal Highland Games. It was fun to see kilted Scotsman all over the place, some with swords, some with big sticks (cabres) and some chucking big stones about!

The only drawback was that I got burned to a crisp and I'm in agony now-that's why this post is short. I am going straight to bed as soon as this is posted successfully!

Good night y'all!

(Yes, I know I look like crap in this photo-it was taken about 15minutes after I realised I was burned!!)

Storm before the calm!

Hi folks!

Well, sorry again for the long delay between posts-I simply have nothing interesting to say, that's all!

However, I am in a slightly better mood than of late. There's been a few storms in the Montreal area lately-and not all of them in the sky. But that's another post.

Since we last exchanged cyberglances I have got myself inked again, this time on my lower calf. More dolphins. But, they're my own design and they're special to me so I will never regret having them done. The pic above is just henna. The real tattoos, new and old are below:

My first tattoo, in 1997, on my right shoulderblade:

My second one, last April (05) on my left ankle:

My new one, on my lower right calf, in July 06:

Apart from that, nothing much is new. I'm still pissed at certain individuals but they're not worth mentioning. Not when I have people like Sadna as a friend.

That will be all for now.

New family members!

Well, so much for my "frequent" posting on here! I knew I wouldn't keep it up as frequently as I had said. So, now I'm just going to post whenever I feel like it, and when I have nothing not too boring to say!

Actually, I don't have anything to say other than the fact that I got myself inked again. It's becoming like an addiction-but there are worse vices so don't jump on me for it!

This is actually my third dolphin tattoo, and this one I designed myself so I'm quite proud of it! There is some symbolism there-there is actually a very deep meaning-but I won't go into that. My close friends know what it's about, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I hate this weather-it's awful! so humid and bad for my Nordic skin! My hair is turning bimbo blonde and I hate that too! I also hate that this thunderstorm that has just started is messing wiht my cable TV! The picture keeps blacking out!

Ok, enough for now. There are pics of my other tattoos on my website: www.myspace.com/lisamontreal

Some positivity today

Hello folks, and welcome to another edition of "My So-Called Life".

Actually, today hasn't been such a bad day at all. I received word about three jobs I applied for and I have two interviews on Thursday and one on Friday.

Any job I take will only be temporary, until September, and I am really looking for a downtown location to avoid travel costs and times. So, I guess I'll find out by the end of the week if any are suitable to me, or if I am suitable to any of them.

What else is new? Not much. This heat is unbearable. I can't sleep at night without the A/C on full! As a result, my roommate has caught a cold! But without the cold air it is like living in a microwave-it's THAT bad!

Because of the heat I haven't been able to work out, because I feel so yukky, but I'll get back into it as soon as this awful weather lifts.

So, that's it for this edition. Hope you weren't too bored! I'll be in touch with an update!

Long time no see!

Hello faithful readers of this drivel! I have decided I will post to this blog on an almost daily basis (well, when I can be bothered).

I hope you are not expecting anything exciting or anything, because if you are then you are going to be VERY disappointed.

Basically, I will use this space to vent my anger and frustration. It's better than taking it out on people around me.

What kind of things will I write? Who knows, depends on my mood.

These days I'm bored as hell so I will probably just be ranting about that but I'll try and add some cheer. Don't expect much though.

I will probably post to this last thing at night, summing up the day's events and adventures.

Here's today's mischief:

I got up, had a headache, went back to sleep and stayed in bed until I woke up late in the afternoon after my headache had finally lifted...thanfully it didn't turn into a migraine, which I suffer from badly.

After that I messed about on the computer, answering emails from all my e-friends around the world. I got a text message from Jelena in Serbia-that always cheers me up!

I then watched the World Cup (Italy v Australia, Switzerand v Ukraine) and to be honest, since my team, Sweden, is no longer involved I've kind of lost interest somewhat. I still think it's Argentina's year though. I've loved Argentina since I was about 8, I have no idea why. For years I even convinced my younger brother I was born there!! (Strange, since my mother has never even been!) Anyway, it's a country I really want to visit one day but I guess I'll have to learn Spanish , yet another language, and save up.

Then I made pasta with hot salsa sauce and mozzarella and parmesan cheese. It was good but my tongue is on fire because that sauce was nippy as hell!

Later I went to Multimags and bought some credit for my mobile phone then I came back messed some more on the computer, killing time doing nothing productive other than downloading movies I probably won't even watch.

I soon got bored so I met my friend Katja for a coffee in the Second Cup on Ste-Catherine Street but she was tired so it was just a brief encounter.

After that I came home, and talked to Pinky on the phone. How I miss her since she moved to Toronto to be a flight attendant on Air Canada Jazz.

So folks, you see, I have a wonderfully boring life...and I don't see any light any time soon.

Are you still reading this?
